“Estrella Jalisco is one of the largest beer brands in Mexico and was first brewed in Guadalajara, Jalisco in 1910. Jalisco is one of the largest states in Mexico and is known as the cultural capital of the country. Some of the most iconic Mexican traditions and symbols originate from there: Mariachis, ranchera music, a famous dance known as “Jarabe Tapatío”, renowned crafting techniques, and “charrería” or rodeo. That’s why the expression says, “Jalisco is Mexico”.
What helps define Estrella Jalisco are our powerful symbols: the eagle on the left and snake on the right are very emblematic of Mexican culture. The old Aztec history talks about the time when an eagle was found sitting on the top of nopal, or cactus, eating a snake. At that moment, the aztecs, who were searching for a promise land, knew their search was over and founded Tenochtitlan (now México City). México’s flag proudly displays the iconic images of the eagle and the snake.
